Wow, I am posting this as I drink an incredible new creation. If you have access to passion fruits and fresh tangerines I suggest you jump on it, right this very moment or as soon as possible. This is a very refreshing tropical smoothie that is packed with vitamins and (as usual in my kitchen) has a coconut water base.
This recipe makes two 20(ish) ounce servings based on my last batch, so share with a friend or save one big cup for later!
- Seeds and jelly of 1 passion fruit
- 1 banana
- 1/2 avocado (use the whole thing if you’re really into them)
- 2 tangerines, peeled
- 2 cups coconut water (would not recommend using a sugar-added juice to replace this, the fruit is sweet enough and sugary juice would over do it)
- 2 cups ice
Blend all ingredients until passion fruit seeds have been obliterated to flecks that are the size of pepper or smaller.
This smoothie was a little more liquidy that most of my creations. This could be remedied by adding extra avocado, plain yogurt, maybe even two hand-fulls of greens!
